The purpose of this project is to support education at the local communities’ level by adopting schools in remote villages of Ghana and provide guidance and educational resources.
Children of Ghana Foundation – Ottawa, Canada in collaboration with Youth Initiative for Africa Development (NGO) based in Accra, Ghana are embarking on a project titled “ EduCare Outreach Program for Rural Schools in Ghana.”
The project will address some of the basic objectives towards giving the indispensable requirements of quality education to rural communities in Ghana. Addressing education at grassroots level is more critical to the long term sustainability of a socioeconomic change. The quality of school education in rural areas is much different than urban areas. Children who have never been to any kind of schooling or who give up schooling as their parents do not believe in them going to school, or kids dropping out of school as it fails to create a curriculum that inculcates interest, or the school facilities that are so unkept and filthy that they fall short of creating a constructive ambiance, or teachers fail to engage the kids in creating the inquisitiveness, a fuel for awakening the little minds. This is the reason why Children of Ghana and Youth Initiative for Africa Development (NGO) are focusing education at the grass root levels.
Currently, we have acquired five (5 ) barrels of reading books in areas of Mathematics,English,Science and ICT which have to be ship from Port of Montreal (Canada) to Port of TEMA (Ghana) for distribution to various schools in the rural communities as part of this project. Although this initiative is laudable, it is weighed down by grave challenges which is financial constraint for the shipping of the books. But as two heads in council break barriers, we believe if hands join to muscles of friends and benevolent, nothing becomes impossible For this we seek the help from all possible and potential sources and we identify and consider your esteem contribution to it as an invaluable one . As per our estimates the total cost of transporting and shipping the five barrels will be $1,500.
